Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

spacer

Recognition of Prior Learning is a concept that values all learning that people have gained in their lives.

The key process that Adult Education uses to recognize learning is transfer credit.

First step is to have an assessment done on what grade 11 and 12 credits a person achieved while attending high school. Credits acquired at a recognized college or university can also be assessed to determine if credits can be transferred towards the high school diploma for adults.

To find out more about this please contact Micheline McWhirter, Assistant Registrar with Adult Education division at 1-877-466-7725 or email: mcwhirma@gov.ns.ca
