The Seniors Literacy and Learning Grant Program has been transferred from the Department of Labour and Advanced Education to the Department of Seniors, and will now be offered through the Positive Aging Grant Program from the Department of Seniors.

Community Learning Organizations are encouraged to apply for a Positive Aging Grant to support their literacy and learning projects. However, applications need to demonstrate that they meet the Positive Aging Grant Program requirements and demonstrate efficient use of funds. Applications and guidelines are available on the Department of Seniors website at: http://novascotia.ca/seniors/positive_aging_fund.asp and the deadline to apply is September 26th.

Previously, the literacy program’s deadline was in late October. In order to help applicants meet the new deadline, Department of Seniors staff members are available to offer support. General enquires about the program changes and application process can be directed to the Department of Seniors 1-800-670-0065.
