LITERACY NOVA SCOTIA
Literacy Nova Scotia (LNS) is a not-for-profit organization supporting the literacy community in Nova Scotia.
Our mission is to make sure every Nova Scotian has equal access to quality literacy education. LNS advocates on
behalf of adult learners and the literacy community. We inform governments and the general public about literacy.

MCCE
Established in 1973, MCCE is a non-profit, volunteer organization which works to increase and improve learning
opportunities for adults.
MCCE has sponsored numerous programs and activities over the years that benefit both members and the public at
large. Through meetings, discussions, publications, regular email updates, social events, and professional
development activities, the organization provides a network for those interested in supporting lifelong learning.

NOVA SCOTIA PUBLIC LIBRARIES
Across Nova Scotia there are 77 library branches. Each library branch provides free community access to the
internet through public access computers. In addition, several provide wireless access.

HALIFAX PUBLIC LIBRARIES
The Halifax Public Libraries system is comprised of 14 branch libraries, two mobile libraries, Books-by-Mail and
Home Delivery services and e-branch. Halifax Public Libraries is the life-long learning centre of the Community and
the place people turn to for the discovery of ideas, the joy of reading and the power of information.
